Brazilian author Yuri Felix Araujo brings his work to an international audience in a time of polarization and democratic crisis
Salvador, Brazil — August 2025. Brazilian writer, poet, and publicist Yuri Felix Araujo launches the first English edition of his book Politics with Love, a revised and expanded adaptation of Amor Político, originally published in Portuguese.
The book offers a timely reflection: how can the message of the Gospel be applied to political life in an age marked by growing authoritarianism, wars, and declining trust in institutions? Through essays on forgiveness, justice, humility, and social responsibility, Araujo argues that love must become the guiding principle of public life, social coexistence, and even the technologies shaping human interaction.
According to the author, “love is not just a private virtue but an essential foundation of citizenship. Without love in politics, democracy weakens and gives way to hatred and violence.”
Beyond his reflections on faith and politics, the book includes new chapters on communication, social networks, and artificial intelligence, highlighting the urgent need for social responsibility in the design of digital algorithms.
About the author:Yuri Felix Araujo was born in Juazeiro, Bahia, in 1963, and began his career as a journalist and advertising professional. Since 1988 he has worked in political marketing, coordinating election campaigns and collaborating with municipal administrations in São Paulo. After a profound spiritual experience in 2011, he turned also to literature, writing novels, poetry, and essays. He currently lives in Salvador, where he continues to balance professional communication with literary and artistic creation.
